Healing the mind and body are two similar and yet very different endeavors. In society, we have separate doctors for each realm, and the current trend of mental healing is the belief that the body affects the mind. This has led to the development of psycho-pharmaceutical practices; their use is widespread in our modern world. Most of us can count a few friends or acquaintances that are taking Zoloft, Paxil, Prozac, Wellbutrin, etc. Not many of us can count acquaintances that have ever progressed far enough in their therapies to negate their need for these medications. Is there an alternative?
As a student of psychology, I am constantly fed the importance and need of psycho-pharmaceutics, and like many of my fellow students (and professionals), I do not fully subscribe to their frequency of use or effectiveness. As a practitioner of the energy healing arts, I see more viable alternatives. The dependence of our nation on these medications is unfortunate – as these medications merely reduce symptoms or errant behaviors. These medications – coupled with holistic medicine – are in my opinion more capable of accomplishing long-term healing goals for the mind, body, and spirit.
The interplay of the mind, the body, and the spirit are delicate and need much practice to be fully understood. Use of energy in the mental arena should be done by qualified practitioners of energy and healing. The healing proposals I make are not professionally sanctioned, and are of my own opinion. I will not accept responsibility for the results (intentional or otherwise) of the applications of these techniques. With that said, I wish you the best of the energies on your healing path.
