It’s been over 10 days! Where have I been??!
Well, to be honest I’ve been quite busy and haven’t been hit by the “writing mood” lately.
Hera has gone on a new schedule for work (which they seem to do to her every three months just to see if I’m paying attention) which leaves me constantly adjusting my schedule to be sure I can be home to watch the boys - or have someone with them while I am … called away. It’s also been interesting because the boys have chicken pox (we’re in the winding down stages now), so I’ve had to be careful with outside contact for them and the many people who seem to have never had the potentially life-threatening illness (didn’t realize that the chicken pox could be deadly? Usually only to us old folks but it happens.). Thankfully both the boys only have a mild outbreak on their arms alone (what “luck” can do), so it hasn’t hampered their energies at all. We’ve had to call off taking them out in public and most of their friends have stayed away, so I’ve had the extra fun of coming up with weeks worth of entertainment. What’d I come up with? To start out they helped me put in a new floor in the playroom - now it’s all sponge soft and you could drop from the ceiling without hurting yourself (good for the budding psychokinetic). With the playroom fully finished all their toys and games came back out of storage so they have 500sqft of fun! It’s been hot outside and they’ve really wanted to go to the splash park and since we can’t go I built them one in the backyard. Okay, so I’m a little on the crazy side with things for the boys but if I can have fun too then it’s totally worth the effort. I’ve been overworking getting the deck supported to hold a hot tub and building a new patio (oh yes and I really must get to building the new fence) so I figured a distraction that could cool me down too would be a brilliant change of pace. With a few pumps, lots of hose and some ingenuity we created a water recirculating, solar powered (must be environmentally friendly .. plus water and hydro are expensive) splash pad. Slipping slopes, sliding streams, moving showers, dumping buckets, slides, pools and inflatable castles with drawbridges. Now I get to work on my projects for awhile and then I can go play too. Why not? As long as you have the energy available you can be as young as you want to be .. right?
Though it seems like my days have been filled with construction and playtime I’ve also been working on my psi (not that I don’t always work on my psi since it’s a way of life but I’ve had dedicated time away too). I’ve been actively working with others to harness new ways of doing old techniques. It’s always interesting to compare notes on what works for everyone and how they go about it. There may just be a faster and more efficient manner to carry out an activity. I’ve also been out in the grove during gatherings and visiting local energetic hot spots. The nice farmers that own the land we go traipsing through I’m quite sure think us odd enough (I gain their permission before setting foot on private land - it’s the right thing to do), but since we don’t destroy anything and they end up with “bumper crops” we have a wonderful agreement. I even get some calls after storms damage their crops as to whether we might be “visiting their fields in the near future”. It’s not that we do a lot to the fields, but if there is energy available the plants will respond - it’s common practice really. Of course it helps that many of us have other outdoor interests such as herbology, botany, bird-watching, etc. so we can be a “naturalists club” to the farmers without having them worry about our “other” activities. It’s all in the marketing
They all know the truth of course since I’m open about it, but if they feel better thinking about us as a naturalist club then so be it.
Talk about it, tailor the marketing, and more people than you think will accept it.

The last day of May sees a cooler day across Olympus with the temperature hovering around 17C. The wind is brisk today which is a great thing because it is the annual kite festival on the mountain. The boys and I were already out to watch the kites this morning and if I could’ve convinced Apollo and Hercules not to run off wreaking havoc I probably would have launched a few kites myself. In my younger days I was competitive with stunt kites and even entered competitions with my father in the sychro-kite categories. Admittedly I don’t get out to fly as much as I used to, but when I can I still enjoy taking off for several hours with nothing but the sound of the wind.
Speaking of wind - the sailboat has been in the water for a month and I have yet to get out on it. To be fair we were waiting for the new mainsail to be fitted, so now that we’ve got cloth (well kevlar really) we can get out sailing again. I suppose we could have put the dacron sail back on, but where’s the fun in that? I do believe we have a new spinnaker for the season as well. To my knowledge (we haven’t had it up yet) the new chute is a super bright rainbow pattern meant to dazzle and confuse our competitors during downwind race legs.
We’re still waiting for it to warm up enough to use the pool. I just can’t see myself willfully diving into mid-teen water anymore. Instead I broke out the remote control ships and boats for the boys and I and have turned the pool into a harbour for now. At least the pool is serving a useful purpose instead of the water just sitting around waiting to evaporate.
In other news I finally added Understanding Dreams 101 to the main Psi Palatium Article Archive. I’ve dug up all of AMPsychic’s work and Active Psy for addition too. Miri has also graciously allowed us to post his recent seminar on runes from Psionicsonline, so that will appear as well. This means we’re going to broach the 600 entry barrier this summer. Wow!

Another beautiful day on Olympus. The boys are outside having a grand old time and I’m hard at “work” once again. What’s new on the mountain these days? Let’s see .. I reassembled the trampoline a couple of weeks ago and everything else of the boy’s is back up and ready for summer (let’s hear it for Play Central). We did get a new pool for them to enjoy when it’s warm. Nothing big of course just one of those little 3m round pools. It came complete with pump, cover, and brominator. Oh yes, back to chemistry class for me. I was weighing the benefits and differences between bromine and chlorine use in pools and decided that since the pool is in full sun all day and can have quite a high bather load I’d stick with bromine. Being able to look after the pool much like a spa is much more convenient for me anyways.
The world of psi has seen some interesting waves in North American energies lately. I always feel I should apologize to people in Europe or elsewhere since I don’t keep constant tabs on those areas. It’s not that I don’t want to, but they’re outside of my normal haunting grounds. It’s been an interesting ebb and flow of energies that will see a rogue wave of energy coming in around the 25th … those of you that can shield should do so on that day.
I leave for a week on Tuesday so don’t be all up in arms if I don’t update for a bit. Once the gathering starts I’m not entirely sure I’ll have the spare time to blog, nor access to a computer for that matter. Yay for psychic times. Oh, and those of you in the valley, and on the Island we promise to contain balance as per usual standards.
